Heather Gillin is a psychotherapist with over 16 years of clinical experience and the founder of Awaken Within, a psilocybin-assisted retreat and integration practice based in the Algarve, Portugal. Her work is heart-centred, somatically informed, and grounded in depth psychology, with a focus on the unconscious and each client’s innate capacity for healing. She offers a steady, ethically held space where individuals can explore their inner world with curiosity, safety, and clinical depth—supporting not just insight, but meaningful, embodied transformation. Her approach spans the full process: from careful preparation, to facilitation within a safe and supported setting, through to integration, where experiences are explored, understood, and woven into everyday life. She also incorporates art therapy as a non-verbal pathway into deeper layers of the psyche. Heather trained with the Synthesis Institute and completed her practicum with Beckley Retreats. She is a member of the Institute of Psychedelic Therapy, reflecting her commitment to ethical, professional practice in this evolving field.
