The FTC maintains separate health-privacy guidance because sensitive consumer health data can sit outside the traditional HIPAA system while still requiring careful handling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You do not need to reject every online tool. You should know which tools are involved before putting intimate details into them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Ask whether you can request a copy or deletion, and whether any exceptions apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The answer may depend on the person\u2019s profession, location, and practice structure. Will my story ever be used for marketing or training?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Testimonials, case studies, social posts, workshops, and practitioner training can turn a private experience into content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ask whether your story, messages, or session details could ever be used in public or professional materials. \u201cAnonymized\u201d does not always mean unrecognizable, especially in a small community or when a story contains distinctive details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Separate consent matters here. Here is the written policy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is more reassuring than a sweeping promise that everything is private forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pay attention to how the person responds to the questions themselves. Privacy is part of boundaries. Someone who becomes defensive when you ask where your information goes may not become more careful after you hire them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use a profile as a starting point<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A directory profile can help you find people whose services, background, and location look relevant.
